“Equitable access to quality, integrated health services for mothers, newborns, children and adolescents is critical for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).”
Department of Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health, World Health Organization
It is the goal of the Maternal & Child Health programme to improve the well being and health while minimizing morbidity and mortality among the maternal clients (i.e. women of child-bearing age), infants and children in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. This is accomplished by delivering quality, affordable healthcare by competent, compassionate healthcare providers through a dynamic network of public health services available through hospital wards (eg. maternity, labour, gynae, female medical / surgical wards), specialist care (i.e. ICU, NICU, SCBU, Neurodevelopment) and community health clinics.
For further information, please contact your local community health clinic.
